Music Program Director: Mr. David Bowman

Mr. Bowman joined the Moorpark Music Family in August 2016. He received his Master of Music in String Performance from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 2018, and his Bachelor of Music in String Performance on double bass from CSUN in 2014. During his three years at CSUN, Mr. Bowman earned the Myron Chandler Award, Emmanuel Compinksy Award, and Outstanding Symphony Member Award. He served three years as principal bass of the CSUN Opera productions and served one year as Principal of the CSUN Symphony. While pursuing his classical degree, Mr. Bowman also lead a Jazz Combo in the CSUN Jazz Department..

Mr. Bowman has performed with numerous orchestras including: American Youth Symphony, Young Artists Symphony Orchestra, New West Symphony, Westlake Village Symphony (as Principal), Valencia Symphony Orchestra (as Principal), Harmony Chamber Orchestra (as Principal), Beverly Hills Philharmonic (as Principal), San Fernando Symphony, Idyllwild Festival Orchestra, and Haydn Festival Orchestra. He has also worked as a Bass Coach with the Viewpoint School, Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras, the Los Angeles Youth Symphony and CSUN Youth Symphony.

Mr. Bowman also works and records with opera groups, chamber ensembles, various non-classical groups, musical theater groups and studio recording sessions. As a member of the band Noble Creatures, Mr. Bowman recorded the electric bass on their album "Strange Behaviors".​
